Metroplex Feeding and Ministry Outreach
Every Tuesday night much of the membership of Eagle's Nest Cathedral go to the
streets for several hours, taking 15-18 huge folding tables, hot turkeys,
sandwiches, salad, and vegetables to feed scores of homeless and underprivileged.
Over a dozen times, Rev., and Mrs. Grant, themselves, have been seen
taking off their own coats in freezing weather, and giving them to
a homeless person.
Recently, on the Tuesday before Christmas, Brenda Grant had her
vision of giving a heavy-duty back-pack to 200 homeless people fulfilled.
Inside each back-pack (which each person can use for a pillow and
protection of their belongings from thieves), she placed a 2-pound
canned ham, a quart of Evian water, a knit hat, a pair of fur-lined,
leather gloves, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, a razor,
shaving lather, a plastic raincoat, and many other things.
Uniquely, Eagle's Nest Cathedral will not allow the homeless people to
line up and wait for their food. Rev. Grant and the church insist on
"serving" the underprivileged, setting up tables and chairs, and then
bringing as many platefuls of food to them that they desire. Rev.
Grant and his associate ministers can been seen singing and ministering
to the men and women, helping them regain their dignity and trust in God.
City leaders have lauded the membership of Eagle's Nest Cathedral for their
caring and love. As Pastor Grant says, "After all, Jesus Himself was a
street-preacher." For more information on the times and dates of our
